1. Cancer
   diagnoses is a death sentence

The
overall survival has improved over past 2-3 decades due to earlier diagnoses
and better treatment modalities. The 5-year survival rate for all cancers
combined is currently about 67 percent.

2. Is
   cancer contagious?

Cancer
is not a contagious disease that easily spreads from person to person.

3. Can
   cancer surgery or a tumor biopsy cause cancer to spread in the body?

No.
The chance that Biopsy/ surgery will cause cancer to spread to other parts of
the body is extremely low.

4. If
   someone in my family has cancer, am I likely to get cancer, too?

Only
about 5 to 10 percent of cancers are caused by harmful mutations that are
inherited from a person’s parent

5. Cancer
   treatment by chemotherapy or radiotherapy reduces quality of life of
   patient

Usually
patients are diagnosed in advanced stages where they already are frail. Fit
patients when undergoing treatment can maintain their quality of life by
following a healthy diet and active lifestyle.

6. E
   cigarettes and vaping doesn’t increase risk of cancer

They
contain carcinogenic substances. And in fact they are more addictive than
normal cigarettes.
